It‘s not about her, it‘s about you. To some degree it‘s not even about her respect for the hobby, it‘s about her respect for your time. If she wants to claim 90% of your free time in the relationship then she‘s prioritizing her own enjoyment of the relationship over yours and that‘s not how it‘s supposed to flow. It should be equal shares on both sides. You shouldn‘t be sacrificing your happiness like this just so she can squeeze another few minutes of whatever she wants to do without it being reciprocated. Sometimes people don‘t realize the value of activities which aren‘t groundbreaking, aren‘t of life altering significance, but are good for the soul and keeps the brain quiet. There are far worse outlets to pick from. A Hobby is something that you can put passion into in a (generally) stress-free environment. It‘s a consequence-less outlet. I‘m not putting in 4 hours to make Characters with edge highlights, non-metallic power weapons, and decals so that they‘ll look good at some competition. I‘m doing it because it makes me happy. Keeps my hands and my eyes sharp. I can improve, but if I do „badly“ or hit a plateau then it‘s a punch with no force. The fact that there are so many people who solely paint and collect without ever having played (In eight-ish years of collecting with multiple 1k+ pt armies, I‘ve played a single game of Kill Team with friends). Also Warhammer being a Kid‘s hobby is a joke, honestly. It’s almost textbook toxic masculinity. What even are hobbies for adults? Golf? You‘re still just a kid hitting a ball with a stick. Wine tasting? Congrats- you‘ve found a hobby that might be as expensive as Warhammer and significantly less healthy.
