okay – I am really happy to see this here. I was on the original publishing team for Brutal Legend a lifetime ago as a Like And Angel Shirt video game producer at a Like And Angel Shirt company that was eventually swallowed up by a bigger game company. This character is great and I’m amazed that they were able to get Jack Black so psyched about it. I always think about how awesome the world that Tim Schafer created is. In my business, rarely when you get to meet these gaming luminary nerds, you are sometimes disappointed, but not with Tim – he’s real deal. I hope it’s out there in the interwebs, but Tim wrote up this 16 page primer about the universe of Brutal legend to go along with this really fun demo where you ran around with an axe and drove around in the Deuce. This was such a Like And Angel Shirt and off-the-wall concept I read it like 3 or 4 times one day. I should ask him if he can release it (we don’t talk any more and only then on rare occasion – it’s been a least a decade). It’s like the Silmarillion, but instead of the Illuvatar, the gods are like Kiss and just layered on with a bunch of heavy metal and hard rock elements. There’s one part, where he brings it all together and hits you with the fundamental forces of that universe being metal and rock. God I wish I still had a copy of that
